Recyclopedia: Motor Oil

Motor Oil

Used motor oil contains toxic impurities, such as lead and cadmium, and cannot be disposed of down the drain or storm sewers. Used motor oil can be recycled into a product that is as good as new oil. It is cleaned, filtered and given new additives. In BC, used motor oil, oil filters and motor oil containers can be recycled at a number of participating retailers and automotive shops for free. Contact the RCBC Recycling Hotline or visit www.usedoilrecycling.com to find the nearest participating retailer.
